The Fat Duck

The Fat Duck is a restaurant run by chef Heston Blumenthal in Bray, Berkshire. It is renowned – much like Blumenthal’s TV exploits – for producing unusual dishes and combinations, such as orange and beetroot jelly or snail porridge. It was awarded best restaurant in the UK in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and scores a maximum of 10/10 in the Good Food Guide.



Restaurant Gordon Ramsay

Ramsay’s restaurant at Royal Hospital Road has three Michelin stars. The eponymous celebrity chef has won numerous awards for his food, and is one of only four chefs in the UK maintaining a three star Michelin rating. His reputation is built upon his "goal of culinary perfection" as well as his sharp tongue and fiery temper.



Tetsuya’s

Tetsuya’s in Sydney, Australia is owned by Tetsuya Wakuda and serves food based on Australian, Japanese and French cuisine. Wakuda’s signature dish is Tasmanian Ocean Trout, and the restaurant has been mentioned in Restaurant Magazine’s top 50 every year since 2004.




The French Laundry

The owner of the French Laundry in California is Thomas Keller, who serves French cuisine with an American twist. The building was built as a saloon in the 1900s and also served as a French steam laundry in the 1920s. It was named as the best restaurant in the world for two consecutive years in 2003 and 2004 and has been three Michelin starred since 2006.



El Bulli

El Bulli is a three Michelin starred restaurant in Catalonia, Spain. Run by chef Ferran Adria, the small restaurant has beautiful views overlooking Cala Montjoi, a bay on Catalonia’s Costa Brava. Restaurant Magazine has judged El Bulli to be #1 on its top 50 a record five times.



Pierre Gagnaire

Pierre Gagnaire is the owner of this eponymous restaurant in Paris, which has the speciality of modern French cuisine. Its mission is to produce food to "face tomorrow, but be respectful of yesterday". It is a three Michelin starred restaurant.



St. John

St. John, located in Smithfield, London, specialises in ‘nose to tail’ eating, which includes pigs’ ears, duck hearts, bone marrow and, occasionally, squirrel. Nevertheless, St, John has a dedicated following amongst gastronomes and has won a number of awards.




Chez Panisse

Alice Waters, a chef and food activist, opened Chex Panisse in 1971. She has always encouraged the use of fresh, locally produced ingredients in her food. All of Chex Panisse’s food is sourced from local farms and ranches, and it is regularly the recipient of gastronomic awards.



Per Se

Per Se in New York City is owned by French Laundry chef Thomas Keller. On a typical night at Per Se, there are a choice of two $275 prix – fixe menus (one vegetarian), both consisting of nine courses. It is one of only a handful of restaurants in the USA to be awarded three Michelin stars.



Jean Georges



Jean Georges is a Manhattan-based restaurant serving prix – fixe menus. The current executive chef is Mark LaPico and the signature dishes include Hamachi and yellowfin tuna. Jean Georges has been the recipient of numerous awards (including the ubiquitous three Michelin stars).
